Vit C for Hair Dye Removal Review (Before & After)

So for the past week I've been going back and for with bleach and L'Oreal Preference Ash Brown hair dye with a lvl 30 developer (which was bought from a small salon in my area). Bottom line, my natural hair color is natural black. There was tons of brassiness and orangy nastiness even with the bleach & ash brown dye on top.

Did my research for alternative remedies for removing hair dye (Did not want to use Color Oops).

My procedure:
1. CRUSHED about 10-20 500 mg tablets of Vit C into a powder substance. (Number of pills will vary depending on your hair length).
2. Mixed it with baby shampoo (the amount should be relatively a little more to what you would normally use; I also chose baby shampoo because my hair has been thru hell this week and I wanted a more gentle shampoo to work with + many other gals experimented with this shampoo.)
3. Wet hair, applied the mixture and wrapped hair in clear seran wrap. Waited for 45 mins. (Mixture will leak so have tissues ready to wipe)
4. Washed hair.

What you should expect:
The color or the wash was orange (semi due to the color of the tablets.) Any maybe even whatever color dye you are trying to get out. My hair, obviously, was orange so, yup. Haha.
Then...
Towel dry your hair*

[***Note: Since I had bleached my hair twice in one week (bad call, I know!)  I used the Redken Extreme Anti-Snap Treatment. I bought it at a beauty supply store in my area for ~$6.60 for 50ml. This is a leave in protein treatment for damaged hair. After two nights use, my hair feels as if it is almost back to it's normal condition] Highly recommend, btw!

Overall experience:

5/5 for a home remedy of removing a color dye. Some gals commented that it made their hair dry. However, my hair seemed to be even more soft and shiny the next day. Give it a try if you are looking for an effective way to remove color dye from your hair.

Day One after Bleaching:

^Darker roots + orangy tint
Day Two...

^Lighter, however still orangy.

Day Three after Vitamin C Remedy
^Lighter and more blonde (less orange.)

]Please note that I am currently using JHirmack Purple Shampoo (Walmart ~$3something in conjunction to banish the brassiness.]

However, even though the change is subtle, I really did see a difference in my hair color from using that vitamin c method. This will not be my permanent hair color. I am letting my hair rest while I await the Liese Ash Brown Japanese Hair color to come by mail. And I will def. do a review on that hair dye brand!

Until next time, girlfriends (and guyfriends).
